CONCRETE EQUIVALENT MORTAR: CORRELATION WITH CONCRETE
Usage
This method makes it possible to design, from a concrete composition, a mortar – called equivalent mortar (MBE) – whose rheological properties (collapse and spreading in the mini cone) are correlative to those of the concrete.
To produce this mortar, the SNL proposes reference sands on demand with following options:
OPTION 1: make your MBE sand according to your own specification in terms of bag composition and weight. The formulation remains your property and confidential
OPTION 2: translate your BETON formula into a suitable MBE formulation. In this case, the client provides their complete concrete formula (cement, water, sand, gravel by fraction, admixture). The formulation remains your property and confidential.
PACKAGING
The weight of the MBE bags will be from 1 kg to 3 kg and made according to the volume of your batches to be ready for use for your tests and thus avoids tedious mixing tasks and above all ensures the regularity of the MBE sand to eliminate any bias in the comparison of the results.
The distribution of grain sizes is guaranteed at +/-2 gr.
