Methods of resistance of wear assessment
USAGE
SNL produces on request any standard sand or specific sand to measure material wear.
For example:
- Sand following EN 168 (wear on glasses)
- Sand 0.04-0.4 mm for wear test of water meters
- Sand CEN EN 196-1 for the control of the safety organs of the KIT SURF
- Sand ARIZONA ISO 12103-1 all dimensions
- Beach sand – less than 1 mm based on the NF P 15 403 standard (diving equipment)

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS
The sand is of the natural siliceous type with a water content of less than 0.1%. The constituent grains of these sands are uncrushed and round-shaped. It has a silica content greater than 98%.
In specific cases, and at the client’s request, ground sand may be used, particularly when siliceous ultrafine is needed.
