METHOD : Replacement Sand
USAGE
It is used on public works sites to measure the bulk density of soils and granular materials. It is used with the “Sand Densitometer” device.
CHARACTERISTICS
This sand is made of dry natural siliceous sand (silica content higher than 97 %), the water content of which is lower than 0,1 %. It is free from flocculent particles, silt, clay and organic matter. The constituent grains of the sand are uncrushed and round-shaped.
The sand is packaged in 25 kg bags.
The grading of replacement sand is according to BS 1377-9 and ASTM®* D 1556.
